متن کاملAnatomical variations in the coronary arteries . II . Less prevalent variations : Coronary anomalies
With the introduction of new surgical procedures an the development of new techniques of cardiac imaging, the normal anatomy, variations and anomalies of coronary arteries have assumed new significance. The coronary arteries may present several variations, in terms of both number and position. The incidence of all coronary anomalies is 0.23% in autopsy series and ranges between 0.3% and 12% in ...
متن کاملAnatomical Variations of Circle of Willis in 57 Human Brains
Purpose: The circle of willis is responsible for blood supply of brain, which may suffer from anatomical variations. These disturbances can lead to aneurysm or even arterial rupture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anatomical structure of the cerebral arteries forming the circle of willis in adult cadavers. Also, cerebral versus non- cerebral versus non-cerebral arterial walls wer...
متن کاملAnatomical variations of the coronary arteries: I. The most frequent variations
Today, with the widespread use of new image diagnosis techniques and the development of non-aggressive treatments, a thorough knowledge of the normal coronary anatomy and its variations and/or anomalies is essential. (McConnell et al, 1995; Post et al, 1995; Bunce and Pennell, 2001; Ropers et al, 2001). Failure to distinguish between normal and anomalous structures may lead to misinterpretation...
متن کاملANATOMICAL VARIATIONS OF THE CHORDA TYMPANI NERVE
The author studied anatomical variations of the origin of the chorda tympani nerve from the mastoid portion of the facial nerve. The studies were performed on 200 specimens of human temporal bone. It was found that the chorda tympani may arise from the facial nerve in three levels: most commonly from the mid third of its mastoid segment (70%), less commonly from the proximal third (20%), an...
